Role Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This position involves not only routine accounting tasks but also ensuring that our clients receive comprehensive support for their accounting, financial reporting, and analytical needs in a timely and precise manner. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with clients and our internal team, gaining exposure to various facets of accounting, financial transactions, and strategic analysis. This role includes managing current client relationships and the potential for developing new ones.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time, in-office position. Our office is located in a convenient area with minimal travel requirements.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess an accounting degree; a CPA is preferred but not mandatory, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client accounts, including:
    • Delegating and coordinating tasks with bookkeeping staff.
    • Identifying and escalating potential projects to management.
    • Addressing any inquiries or issues that arise.
    • Developing and implementing processes to enhance workflow efficiency.
    • Communicating with clients and stakeholders regarding requests and concerns.
  • Review and approve client accounts payable invoices, investigating discrepancies as necessary.
  • Oversee payroll processing in collaboration with an external payroll provider.
  • Conduct cash and credit card reconciliations for clients.
  • Record and manage cash receipts.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts as required.
  • Supervise month-end closing procedures, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Review daily operations and transactions for accuracy in general accounting.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts, including intercompany and equity accounts.
  • Evaluate journal entries for precision and prepare necessary closing entries.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing financial review packages.
  • Generate 1099s and W-2s for clients.
  • Calculate and remit sales tax.
  • Issue invoices to clients' customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by accountants or partners.
  • Continuously seek improved methods for handling tasks to enhance efficiency.

Software Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • QuickBooks Online

Preferred Software Knowledge:

  • Sage Intacct
  • Expensify
  • QB Time
  • QBO Payroll

Education and Skills:

  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Accounting degree required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and professionally.
  • Familiarity with computerized accounting systems and manual bookkeeping.
  • Understanding of payroll processing regulations and requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
