Role Summary: We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role involves not only daily accounting tasks but also ensuring our clients receive comprehensive support for their accounting, financial reporting, and analytical needs. You will collaborate closely with clients and our internal team, gaining exposure to various facets of accounting, financial transactions, and strategic analysis. This position will manage existing client relationships and has the potential for business development.

Work Environment: This is a full-time, in-office position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage client accounts effectively, including:
    • Coordinating tasks with bookkeepers.
    • Identifying and escalating potential projects to management.
    • Addressing questions and concerns promptly.
    • Creating processes to enhance workflow efficiency.
    • Engaging with clients through meetings and communications.
  • Review and approve client accounts payable invoices.
  • Oversee payroll processing in collaboration with an outsourced payroll provider.
  • Conduct cash and credit card reconciliations.
  • Record cash receipts accurately.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts as necessary.
  • Supervise month-end closing procedures, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Monitor daily accounting operations and review transactions for accuracy.
  • Ensure thorough reconciliation of all accounts, including intercompany and equity accounts.
  • Review journal entries and prepare closing entries.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements.
  • Assist in preparing financial review packages for distribution.
  • Generate necessary tax documents for clients.
  • Calculate and remit sales tax.
  • Issue invoices on behalf of clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior accountants or partners.
  • Continuously seek improvements in processes to enhance efficiency.

Software Proficiency:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • QuickBooks Online

Preferred Software Knowledge:

  • Sage Intacct
  • Expensify
  • QB Time
  • QBO Payroll

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of accounting experience, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Possession of an accounting degree is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Proficient in computerized accounting systems and manual bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
