Passive Safety Development Engineer

Honda is seeking a highly skilled Passive Safety Development Engineer to join our Advanced Safety Controls Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and integrating safety control systems software into our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage vehicle development projects related to Passive Safety and Restraint Systems control specifications.
- Review and develop functional requirements for electronic controls systems specifications.
- Validate software functions through standard requirement testing on bench and in vehicle.
- Validate electrical hardware through EMC testing and work with suppliers to countermeasure issues.
- Ensure functional safety requirements are achieved and approved by technical experts.
- Lead the integration of software functions into vehicles and verify their functionality.
- Negotiate requirements with collaborating controls teams and coordinate with design functions to ensure correct control specifications are applied.
- Coordinate with factory associates during build phases to ensure controls meet required specifications and lead chassis software/control issue resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Co-op/intern experience preferred.
- Understanding of electrical components, EMC testing, and requirements management.
- Experience with control specification development, function validation, diagnostics, and CAN structures.
- Familiarity with ISO 26262 standard for functional safety.
