Job Title: Mechanical Development Sr. Engineer

At Honda Development and Manufacturing of America, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Development Sr. Engineer to join our Power Unit/Chassis Dev BU team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and guaranteeing the correct powertrain hardware package required to meet all developmental, marketability, and regulatory targets. This will involve actively managing test and development schedules and data input from multiple departments and divisions across HDMA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive plans for powertrain hardware application and verification.
  • Work directly with powertrain-related function groups to ensure harmonious hardware maturation schedules.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware/calibration issues that arise during development.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with function management and team members on hardware/calibration maturation status.
  • Lead regular test data review meetings and MaruQ preparation events to validate hardware and calibrations.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a BS or MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent level of education and experience. Proficient PC skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Matlab, are also required.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work on actual engines/vehicles with hand and power tools, with a portion of their time spent in the lab confirming systems on bench, on the car, or in thermal chambers. They will also perform analysis and documentation, then communicate findings to varying levels of management.
