Position Overview:

The Classroom Support Team, under the direction of the IT Manager, is tasked with delivering technical assistance and upkeep for classroom and instructional technologies throughout the institution. This team guarantees that educators, administrative personnel, and learners have dependable access to the technological resources necessary for an effective educational experience. The ideal candidate will possess robust technical expertise, outstanding problem-solving skills, and a dedication to providing exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Assistance:
    • Deliver both on-site and remote technical support for classroom technology, encompassing projectors, audio systems, computers, and video conferencing tools.
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software complications swiftly to reduce disruptions during instructional sessions.
    • Assist educators and staff in utilizing classroom technology effectively before, during, and after classes.
  • Maintenance and Configuration:
    • Conduct regular maintenance and updates on classroom technology to ensure peak performance.
    • Prepare and test equipment for special events, lectures, and conferences as required.
    • Install and set up new classroom technology and software in accordance with institutional standards.
  • Training and Documentation:
    • Facilitate training sessions for educators and staff on the effective use of classroom technology.
    • Create and maintain user manuals, FAQs, and other instructional materials to promote self-service.
    • Record technical issues and solutions in the institution's ticketing system.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work in conjunction with the IT department to ensure classroom technology is compatible with the institution's IT framework and policies.
    • Engage with academic departments to comprehend and support their specific technological requirements.
    • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to technology planning and enhancement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge equivalent to that typically acquired through the completion of a four-year college degree program; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in an information technology area pertinent to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Experience with audiovisual equipment, including projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing tools.
    • Familiarity with classroom management software and learning management systems (LMS).
    • Strong grasp of networking principles and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Capability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical users clearly and patiently.
    • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Willingness to work evenings or weekends as necessary for special events or emergencies.

Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and maneuver tech carts with loads up to 150 pounds.
