Internal Audit Overview:
Discover's Internal Audit Department (IAD) is dedicated to delivering insightful evaluations, utilizing specialized expertise, and providing a refreshing experience for all stakeholders.

Position Summary:

The BSA/AML Internal Audit team is in search of a dynamic, dedicated, and driven professional eager to advance their career within a regulatory compliance audit environment.

This team evaluates business processes and practices for compliance risks related to anti-money laundering, financial crimes, and other non-consumer laws and regulations.

Our audits are conducted in a dynamic setting, covering a broad spectrum of regulatory topics while assessing risk management frameworks, controls, and governance to provide valuable insights to business partners regarding compliance risks.

  • Other Financial Crimes
  • Non-consumer laws and regulations

Core Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the audit plan for Financial Crimes and non-consumer regulatory compliance.
  • Manage overall scope, risk assessment, audit frequency, budget, and staffing.
  • Supervise audits and validations.
  • Maintain expertise in audit focus areas, including emerging risks.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies.
  • Lead the BSA/AML Audit team and manage direct reports.
  • Provide guidance on audit methodologies, report writing, and staff supervision.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage data and analytical tools to enhance the audit program.
  • Assess and manage talent, team structure, and staffing levels.
  • Offer coaching and feedback to audit staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Audit experience in banking, accounting/consulting, regulatory agencies, or other financial institutions.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or willingness to obtain.

Additional Certifications:
  • CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CFE.
  • Six Sigma, STEM, or other Business, Risk, Compliance, or Audit-related certifications.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $150,500.00 to $228,000. Additional incentives may be included as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may influence the pay for this position.
