About Internal Audit
Discover's Internal Audit Department (IAD) is committed to providing insightful perspectives, leveraging specialized talent, and delivering a refreshing experience to all of our stakeholders. Summary:
The BSA/AML Internal Audit team is seeking an energetic, committed, and motivated professional who is looking to grow their career within a regulatory compliance audit function. This team assesses business processes and practices for the risk of non-compliance with applicable anti-money laundering, financial crimes, and other non-consumer laws and regulations. The team completes audit testing in a dynamic environment across a wide variety of regulatory topics and assesses risk management frameworks, controls, and governance to provide insights to business partners regarding compliance risk.

  • Bank Secrecy At
  • Anti-Money Laundering
  • Economic Sanctions
  • Other Financial Crimes
  • Non-consumer laws and regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the audit plan for Financial Crimes and non-consumer regulatory compliance areas
  • Responsible for overall scope, auditable unit risk assessment, auditable unit frequency, budget, and staff
  • Supervise audits and validations
  • Maintain expertise in areas of audit focus, including areas of emerging risk
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies
  • Manage direct reports and the BSA/AML Audit team
  • Provide guidance on audit administration / methodology, report writing, and staff supervision
  • Identify opportunities to build and leverage available data and analytical tools to enhance the audit program
  • Assess and manage talent, team structure, and staff levels for area of responsibility
  • Provide coaching/feedback to audit staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, Analytics, or related field
  • Relevant Experience: 10+ years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Audit experience within banking, accounting/consulting, regulatory agency, or other financial institution.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or willing to obtain
  • Additional Certifications:
    • CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CFE
    • Six Sigma, STEM, or Business, Risk, Compliance, or Audit related certifications

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $150,500.00 to $228, Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
