Position Summary: The role involves executing commercial lending operations in alignment with Southside Bank's established policies and protocols. The individual will be responsible for fostering new commercial client relationships while also nurturing the existing customer portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently identify and cultivate profitable new client relationships through networking and referrals.
  • Enhance the Bank's profitability by establishing and deepening business relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide comprehensive banking solutions to clients and prospects.
  • Develop and strengthen deposit relationships while effectively cross-selling treasury services.
  • Negotiate loan structures and promote the Bank's credit and non-credit offerings.
  • Oversee and conduct periodic reviews of existing loan agreements to ensure they meet suitability and risk standards.
  • Evaluate client deposit and payment activities.
  • Engage in special projects that support team objectives and community engagement.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of banking products, credit principles, and market trends.
  • Represent the bank professionally at public and community events.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry trends through ongoing education.
  • Participate in team meetings and relevant committees as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supervise support staff in their tasks and professional development.
  • Actively engage with the community to identify and originate personal mortgages, if qualified.
  • Conduct interviews with mortgage loan applicants to gather necessary information for loan applications.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Contribute to team efforts to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Provide mentorship and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Attend external meetings as necessary.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in lending or credit analysis with a focus on commercial relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
  • Proficient in credit and underwriting processes.
  • Sales experience with familiarity in loan processing and closing.
  • Postgraduate banking certification or training is preferred.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong ability to build and enhance customer relationships to expand lending and identify suitable bank products/services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business publications, professional journals, and regulatory documents.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations and basic algebra.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex instructions.
  • Proficient in using personal computers for various tasks including email, record-keeping, and data management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to handle items and perform tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Indoor office setting with adequate lighting and ventilation.

Work Schedule:
