RESPONSIBILITIES

The Area Operations Manager is accountable for the operational performance of the Product Line, encompassing Safety and Service Delivery. This role involves managing a team of Field Operations Managers responsible for implementing all standards and procedures. The position ensures that all assets and inventory are utilized efficiently and to the best financial advantage of the Company. It is crucial that all product line personnel are technically qualified and competent in their roles, adhering to global training and development standards. The Area Operations Manager will oversee the product line P&L, which is part of the overall geozone P&L. Collaboration with the Sales Manager and the team of Account Managers and Technical Sales resources is essential to meet and exceed financial targets, expand market share, and enhance operating margins. Additionally, this role serves as a conduit for client feedback, relaying insights back through the geozone and product line management to inform future strategies and business plans.

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
  • Lead and manage Safety and Compliance across the Product Line(s), fostering a culture of accountability that continuously improves.
  • Maintain a visible presence through leadership to ensure compliance and enhance organizational commitment to safety.
  • Ensure that Health & Safety responsibilities are embraced by all employees.
  • Actively participate in investigations, monitor operational performance, and strive to minimize non-conformities.
OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY
  • Accountable for the performance of Field Operating Managers and their teams to ensure service delivery meets Company metrics for quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Ensure effective utilization of all resources and assets on a continuous basis through collaboration with the Global Product Line.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability that is consistently improving across the product line.
  • Ensure compliance with all current service standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare bid summary analyses with financial and strategic justifications.
  • Possess inventory management experience.
CLIENT & COMMUNICATION
  • Engage with Sales Account Managers and Technical Sales Support to gather client feedback on future requirements that may influence product line technology strategy.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and the Global PL to develop product definitions and respond to client needs and market opportunities.
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
  • Manage the product line to ensure budgetary and operational expectations are met.
  • Maximize financial performance through effective asset, inventory, and receivables management, identifying opportunities to grow local market share and improve margins in collaboration with Sales Account Managers.
  • Produce product line revenue forecasts.
  • Review the product line business plan quarterly and take responsibility for any necessary remedial actions.
  • Finalize the Upsell plan as part of the bid strategy.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
  • Manage and mentor product line personnel through visible leadership in performance management, talent review, and succession planning processes.
  • Coordinate with the Global PL Director on the growth of the PL and related personnel requirements.
QUALIFICATION
  • 5+ years in roles such as Operations Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Product Line Manager, or Technical Sales Manager.
  • 10+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • 5+ years of P&L management experience.
  • Proven experience in executing day-to-day operations and product-related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with communications and public relations techniques, with the ability to develop and deliver professional presentations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with officials at all levels and work across a diverse multicultural community.
