STEM Program Facilitator

POSITION SUMMARY: Union League Boys and Girls Clubs is dedicated to delivering innovative and engaging STEM initiatives for our youth members. Our mission is to create immersive, hands-on learning experiences that equip our members with essential 21st Century skills in a collaborative setting, empowering them to tackle real-world challenges.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The STEM Program Facilitator will lead activity sessions for Union League Boys & Girls Clubs members while providing support to the Technology and Science Director. This role involves collaborating with Club leadership to pinpoint critical areas for STEM programming and applying evidence-based methodologies to implement contemporary curricula that meet these identified needs.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reports directly to the Technology and Science Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver current and evidence-based curricula to Club members.
- Collaborate with Club Directors to assess the interests and requirements of Club members regarding STEM initiatives.
- Act as a resource for ULBGC staff to identify best practices for the safe use of technology and programs that cultivate 21st Century STEM competencies.
- Partner with the Technology and Science Director to create or source curricula that align with the needs and interests of Club members, providing feedback on program effectiveness.
- Assist in the planning of STEM-related special events.
- Mentor Club members to ensure their preparedness for STEM special events.
- Support the management of technology utilized by ULBGC staff and members.
- Help oversee the inventory of ULBGC technology resources.
- Contribute to a culture focused on standards, data, and results.
- Work alongside the Technology and Science Director to identify suitable resources and support for STEM programs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities as assigned by the Technology and Science Director and be prepared to share insights gained.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by the Technology and Science Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework is preferred. Experience in facilitating programming and conducting debriefing sessions, particularly in STEM activities, is highly desirable. A solid understanding of the 21st Century STEM needs of youth, especially those from under-resourced backgrounds, is essential.
