POSITION SUMMARY: Union League Boys and Girls Clubs is dedicated to delivering innovative and engaging STEM initiatives for our youth members. ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The STEM Program Facilitator will lead activity sessions for Union League Boys & Girls Clubs members while providing support to the Technology and Science Director. This role involves collaborating with Club leadership to pinpoint critical areas for STEM programming and applying evidence-based methodologies to implement contemporary curricula that meet these identified needs.

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports directly to the Technology and Science Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver current and evidence-based curricula to Club members.
  2. Collaborate with Club Directors to assess the interests and requirements of Club members regarding STEM initiatives.
  3. Act as a resource for ULBGC staff to identify best practices for the safe use of technology and programs that cultivate 21st Century STEM competencies.
  4. Partner with the Technology and Science Director to create or source curricula that align with the needs and interests of Club members, providing feedback on program effectiveness.
  5. Assist in the planning of STEM-related special events.
  6. Mentor Club members to ensure their preparedness for STEM special events.
  7. Support the management of technology utilized by ULBGC staff and members.
  8. Help oversee the inventory of ULBGC technology resources.
  9. Contribute to a culture focused on standards, data, and results.
  10. Work alongside the Technology and Science Director to identify suitable resources and support for STEM programs.
  11. Participate in professional development opportunities as assigned by the Technology and Science Director and be prepared to share insights gained.
  12. Complete additional tasks as directed by the Technology and Science Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework is preferred. Experience in facilitating programming and conducting debriefing sessions, particularly in STEM activities, is highly desirable. A solid understanding of the 21st Century STEM needs of youth, especially those from under-resourced backgrounds, is essential.
