Job Title: STEM Instructor

After School Matters is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high-quality after-school and summer programs for Chicago high school teens. We are seeking a skilled and passionate STEM Instructor to join our team and help us achieve our mission.

About the Role

The STEM Instructor will be responsible for teaching and mentoring a diverse group of teen participants in various facets of content area-specific industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEM fields and be able to create engaging and interactive learning experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality STEM programs that meet measurable programmatic outcomes
  • Prepare and deliver interactive, teen-led activities on content area
  • Recruit, teach, and mentor teen program participants
  • Manage and track program activities, including attendance, interview outcomes, enrollment, evaluation surveys, and pertinent student records
  • Attend planning and program dates, including instructor orientation, professional development workshops, meetings, and other required sessions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field
  • Experience working in a field relevant to the content area
  • Familiarity with specific Chicago neighborhoods
  • Experience teaching, specifically teenagers, is highly preferred
