Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Case Manager at Northeastern Illinois University, you will play a crucial role in providing counseling services to STEM students, including initial appointments, walk-in consultations, crisis intervention, and therapy. You will also supervise and train Peer Wellness Coaches at the Student Center for Science Engagement (SCSE) and collaborate closely with SCSE staff and the summer research program.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide clinical services to STEM students, including initial assessment, crisis intervention, and therapy.
Provide case management for STEM students requiring linkage with NEIU support services and off-campus mental health referrals.
Supervise and train Peer Wellness Coaches who offer support for STEM students.
Provide outreach and consultation to the NEIU community on mental health-related topics.

Requirements:

This position requires a Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. You must be licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois and have experience providing counseling and case management in a diverse, multicultural setting. Ability to work autonomously is also essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two or more years of post-licensure experience, Spanish-speaking ability, and experience supervising others are preferred. Understanding student experiences as a STEM major and skills in initiating professional liaison relationships with external healthcare providers are also desirable.
