Job Overview

The City of New York is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Budget Manager. The selected candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from $92,283 to $100,000.

Position Summary

This position is exclusively available to candidates who hold permanent status in the Civil Service title of Administrative Staff Analyst. The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of children and families through a variety of child welfare and juvenile justice initiatives.

The Division of Policy, Planning, and Measurement (PPM) plays a crucial role in enhancing systems analysis and strategic improvements across ACS. This division ensures the quality of practice within ACS and its partner agencies, while also focusing on workforce professionalization and research support.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Budget Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the overall budget for the Office of Training and Workforce Development.
  • Providing detailed monthly reports on financial trends and spending requirements.
  • Coordinating budgetary support for various stakeholders, including ACS leadership and CUNY consultants.

The Budget Manager will also:

  • Manage all budget-related activities in collaboration with ACS Finance.
  • Support the allocation of resources for departmental planning and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with fiscal regulations while managing the Chief Operating Officer's P-Card.

Qualifications

1. A master's degree in a relevant field such as economics, finance, or public administration, along with two years of professional experience in budget administration or a related area, including 18 months in a managerial capacity.

2. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree and four years of professional experience in the aforementioned areas, including the required managerial experience.
