Role Overview:

The Principal Technical Program Manager will be based in Salt Lake City, Dallas, or Austin and will spearhead intricate programs that span multiple engineering, product, and cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, Marketing, Client Success, and Operations at CARE.

This role involves shaping the overall strategy of programs, guiding technical decisions, and overseeing execution from planning through to delivery. Your technical expertise and strong commitment to user experience will be crucial in consistently delivering value to customers.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and synchronize the delivery of complex cross-functional programs across various projects, ensuring successful implementation aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Apply Agile methodologies to enhance processes, improve project velocity, and manage program-level functions, including risk mitigation, dependency identification, and resource planning and execution.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, tracking performance and milestones using suitable tools and techniques.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial management aspects of projects to ensure effective resource allocation and utilization.
  • Encourage collaboration among functional teams to drive synergy and efficiently resolve challenges.
  • Implement data-driven strategies utilizing analytics and technology to improve decision-making and optimize program results.
  • Engage with senior management and stakeholders to report on project status and suggest adjustments as necessary to achieve business goals.
  • Promote continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle, fostering innovation and adopting industry best practices.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated success in executing critical and high-value strategic initiatives for large organizations.
  • Expertise in Agile practices, particularly in managing complex programs within engineering environments.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, adept at managing critical issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of juggling multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in financial management within project contexts, including budgeting, cost estimation, and fiscal analysis.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and techniques.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical).
  • Experience in building teams for Technical Program Management and fostering organization-wide adoption of best practices that enhance engineering productivity and business agility.
  • Understanding of Microservices Architecture, REST or GraphQL, Java, SpringBoot, and Go.

Salary Range: $175,000 to $225,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of CARE's total compensation package, which may also include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives, as well as a variety of employee benefits, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
