About the Role

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a dynamic and challenging role. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key part in supporting the Hawthorne Army Depot, working closely with customers at all levels to deliver high-quality design and development solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Conduct site visits and investigations to identify engineering problems and propose solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and system/subsystem specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to customers, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Participate in contract solicitation, bid review, and award activities, ensuring that contract documents are prepared and executed promptly.
  • Review contract submittals for compliance with contract specifications and inspect project sites to ensure contractor compliance.
  • Assure complete and appropriate project closeout, including fiscal closeout, as-built and record drawing completion, etc.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
  • Three (3) years professional technical experience, including at least one (1) year specialized experience performing mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering.
  • SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, 3D CAD, and Weapons System experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with some applicable design experience required.
  • Possess analytical abilities necessary to handle complex administrative, organizational, and contract matters.
  • Have a basic knowledge of computers and be able to input and extract data, prepare briefings, and transmit documents.
  • Possess excellent oral, written, and communication skills, able to address a variety of audiences.
  • Able to give attention to detail and execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to deal with customers and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
  • Valid State Drivers' License required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
