We are currently seeking a MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (FALCON) to become a vital member of our Falcon team.

In this role, you will be tasked with the design of structures, fluid systems, and components that are capable of enduring the harsh conditions of outer space. You will collaborate closely with senior management, contribute to essential design stages, and play a pivotal role in influencing the future of space exploration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the design of primary and secondary structures, mechanisms, and fluid systems for Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy.
  • Employ calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and computer-aided design (CAD) tools to ensure that hardware complies with specifications.
  • Engage in design evaluations, hardware qualifications, and act as a technical liaison with suppliers.
  • Coordinate the hardware delivery schedule from conception to reuse.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Proficiency with CAD or FEA software.
  • Practical hardware experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in engineering.
  • Familiarity with NX/Teamcenter and commercial FEA software.
  • Proven ability to manage hardware within an engineering team.
  • Scientific programming skills in Python, Matlab, etc.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to work additional hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Readiness to travel for hardware testing and launches.
