Mechanical Engineer - Processing Plant
At Starpath Robotics, we are pioneering a comprehensive solution for propellant generation on the Moon, encompassing everything from resource extraction to refueling spacecraft. To support this ambitious endeavor, we are seeking to enhance our mechanical engineering expertise, starting with your contribution. As a Mechanical Engineer on the Plant team, you will be tasked with the design and construction of subsystems and components that facilitate the transformation of Lunar-sourced materials into propellant, while also overseeing the transition of your hardware from the prototype stage to operational deployment on the Lunar surface.

Key Responsibilities
- Innovate, design, construct, and evaluate structures and process components intended for use on the Lunar surface.
- Establish and validate system requirements, perform trade-off analyses, document decision-making processes, and develop operational protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware with supporting systems.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software and comprehensive engineering calculations/analyses.
- Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion.
- Strong personal initiative and productivity.
- A genuine commitment to contributing to humanity's permanent presence beyond Earth.
- Eligibility to obtain federal authorization for access to ITAR-controlled information.
Desirable Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a technical field.
- Experience in designing hardware for aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:
- Electrochemistry
- Cryogenic processes
- Mechatronics
- Process engineering
- Thermal analysis at the system level
- History of delivering innovative engineering solutions.
Position Overview
- Location: Los Angeles - Hawthorne
- Open to candidates at all levels of post-graduate experience.
- Base salary range is $80,000 to $160,000 per year, plus an equity package; compensation is commensurate with experience.
- Includes paid time off and health/dental/vision benefits.
