Job Overview

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Office Manager to join the team in the Office of Diversity, Opportunity, and Inclusion.

About the Role

This is a full-time position responsible for providing administrative support to the Chief Diversity Officer and other staff members. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide superior customer service experience by greeting office visitors, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and serving as a point of contact for inquiries.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, take and transcribe meeting minutes, assemble reports, prepare agendas and meeting materials, and handle correspondence.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating office meetings, programs, events, workshops, and trainings for cadets, faculty, and staff.
  • Manage data related to office events, including tracking participant attendance, training evaluations, and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce timely reports of the office budget, process payments, and make purchases following Commonwealth of Virginia guidelines.
  • Coordinate all travel for office staff, including making reservations, securing travel arrangements, obtaining directions, and processing travel reimbursements.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree or relevant job experience.
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, opportunity, and inclusion with an understanding of the unique challenges of historically underrepresented populations in higher education.
  • Previous administrative experience in a professional setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $60,000-$80,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
