Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer Team Lead

Join Raytheon, a leading aerospace and defense company, as a Principal Mechanical Engineer Team Lead. In this role, you will lead a team of highly skilled mechanical engineers in the design, development, and production of radar and defense systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of 15-25 mechanical engineers.
  • Oversee technical performance of individual contributors and engineering leads.
  • Responsible for employee technical development, leadership development, mentoring, motivating, training, and recognition.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Lead and support Mechanical Engineering organization initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree.
  • 8 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role with a minimum four (4) years designing and developing mechanical equipment, preferably for use in Military environments.
  • Experience in mechanical design, development, material selection, and manufacturing processes, for electronic assemblies and equipment packaging.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance analysis.
  • Experience with managing engineering budgets with Earned Value Management (EVMS) and Estimate at Complete (EAC) process.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience leading engineering teams with cost and schedule responsibility.
  • Mechanical design experience, including concept definition through detailed design and transition to production and production support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an Integrated Product Team environment, interfacing with multiple Engineering disciplines, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, IPT Leadership, Program Managers, and Customers.
