Job Title: Principal Engineer, Interconnects

At Raytheon Careers, we are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our ADGE Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating platform systems, including shelter systems, hardware integration, cable & interconnections, and facility development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
  • Design, develop, and document cables, harnesses, and connectors to meet defense system requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams as a technical lead through all phases of development from proposal generation, program start up, requirements allocation, preliminary and detailed design development, and production.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
  • Work with limited supervision and meet technical, schedule, and monetary commitments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience designing cables, harnesses, and connectors for defense or commercial systems.
  • Experience with MIL-Spec Fiber Optic and Radio Frequency cables, assemblies, and/or connectors.
  • Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
