Position Summary

The Culinary Operations Leader is accountable for overseeing all kitchen activities, with a strong focus on food production, menu adherence, daily operations, and culinary innovation. This role collaborates closely with the Food Service Director and Production Manager to ensure optimal client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the highest standard of culinary service to guests at all times.
  • Maintain and enhance quality benchmarks and production standards.
  • Plan and execute cooking operations to align with meal service schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Lead and mentor kitchen staff, including cooks and prep personnel, in food preparation and service.
  • Address and resolve culinary challenges, including menu substitutions and waste reduction strategies.
  • Conduct daily production meetings to align team efforts and ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee sanitation practices and ensure adherence to HACCP guidelines.
  • Manage labor schedules effectively to meet operational needs while controlling costs.

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in culinary management.
  • Experience in high-end catering is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Passion for culinary arts and commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of contemporary culinary trends.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to communicate effectively, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
