With a dedicated workforce of 245 employees and a robust budget, the District serves over 190,000 residents and businesses, while also managing 21,000 acres of pristine watershed lands.

Position Overview:

In this role, you will undertake a range of complex professional survey tasks both in the field and office settings related to the District's infrastructure and property dealings. You will lead and coordinate survey operations, provide technical oversight to Facilities Designers, and assist in securing property easements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify survey maps and descriptions for precision and compliance with established surveying standards.
  • Prepare and authenticate legal record maps, plats, and deed descriptions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Services and Legal Counsel on property transactions.
  • Conduct presentations to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders regarding property matters.
  • Perform various survey office tasks, including data compilation and preparation of easement drawings.
  • Direct and execute a variety of land surveys utilizing advanced techniques and technology.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey instruments while training team members in their operation.
  • Ensure the accuracy of field notes and compliance with District standards.
  • Review contractor work for adherence to engineering specifications and assist in proposal evaluations.
  • Coordinate survey-related activities with other divisions and external agencies.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A valid California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • A Certificate of Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor from the State of California.
  • Extensive experience in surveying and related engineering fields.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of:

  • Surveying principles, practices, and equipment.
  • Employee supervision and training methodologies.
  • Legal aspects of property transactions and surveying regulations.
  • Proficient use of Civil3D and other surveying software.
