The Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown is in search of a Culinary Operations Supervisor who embodies our values, shares a commitment to excellence, and brings enthusiasm to every task. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the guest experience by delivering outstanding service in support of our esteemed hotel. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef.

JOB TITLE:

Responsibilities

The Culinary Operations Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the work of kitchen staff. They oversee food preparation while ensuring superior quality and consistency.

Essential Functions:
  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the kitchen's food production area to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
  • Assist in the planning and development of recipes, ensuring correct preparation and presentation of food items prepared through production and demonstration.
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation standards set forth by Four Seasons, as well as local, state, and federal regulations, while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Maintain control systems to assure quality and portion consistency.
  • Monitor food shipments to ensure they meet established purchasing specifications and foster an awareness of the importance of food preparation and quality.
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met.
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors, adhering to meal break policies and following proper payroll procedures.
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Production of food items.
  • Assist with the setup and cleaning of operational areas.

Salary Range: $87,000-$92,000
