Current enrollment in a university program.

Preferred Experience:

Knowledge and experience in the Equine Industry is advantageous.

Licensing:

Valid Driver's License required.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and transport materials, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Schedule:

Approximately 15-17 hours per week, with potential evening and weekend commitments.

Internship Overview:

The Equine Communication and Student Relations internship provides a unique opportunity to engage in various aspects of Equine Programs, enhancing skills in communication, leadership, and event management. Interns will assist in organizing events and initiatives that foster community within the Equine Science and Management program, contribute to communication efforts, and lead special projects aligned with personal interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation, editing, and management of content for newsletters and publications.
  • Draft and distribute press releases.
  • Write profiles and feature articles about programs and individuals.
  • Manage and update social media accounts.
  • Document equine events through writing, photography, and videography.
  • Represent the organization at industry-related events, engaging with potential students and stakeholders.
  • Support the management of email communications and databases.
  • Organize promotional materials and assist in inventory management.
  • Monitor media coverage and trends relevant to the organization.
  • Provide teaching assistance and help develop educational resources.
  • Contribute to the creation of surveys and assist with data management.
  • Develop advising and recruitment materials for the undergraduate program.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
