The Hazardous Building Materials division is seeking a dedicated Sustainability Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role will involve conducting inspections and fieldwork to ensure adherence to environmental regulations and standards.

This position is based in our office with regular travel to various field locations. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections for hazardous building materials across commercial, residential, municipal, and private sectors, including the collection of samples for regulated materials such as asbestos, lead, and PCBs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of field activities.
  • Compile and develop comprehensive inspection reports and assist in project design.
  • Utilize industrial hygiene equipment to conduct Indoor Air Quality assessments and sampling.
  • Oversee construction management tasks to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Participate in site inspections and contribute to proposals for environmental services.
  • Engage in construction meetings and conduct field audits to support technical teams.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Environmental Science, Safety Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in building sciences, environmental sampling, or construction.
  • Required certifications: CT Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Project Monitor.
  • Preferred certifications: CT Asbestos Designer and Asbestos Management Planner.
  • OSHA 10-hour Construction training and HAZWOPER training are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel is essential; familiarity with GIS and AutoCAD is a plus.
