Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on-site technical assistance to users facing hardware, software, and networking challenges.
- Address IT support requests promptly, ensuring efficient resolution of technical issues.
- Diagnose and rectify IT-related problems swiftly to reduce operational downtime.
- Oversee and sustain Windows desktop and server environments.
- Engage in basic Linux system administration and upkeep.
- Supervise and manage VMware vCenter and ESXi virtualization platforms.
- Set up and troubleshoot Aruba/HP switches along with Aruba wireless networks.
- Work collaboratively with the R&D team to implement and maintain specialized IT systems and applications.
- Assist with onboarding processes and manage user access permissions for various R&D systems.
- Coordinate with corporate IT departments to adhere to change control protocols.
- Conduct regular maintenance to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of IT systems.
- Support the execution of IT projects and initiatives, aligning with organizational objectives.
- Document IT processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing.
- Develop and maintain system design specifications as necessary.
- Ensure robust security measures for all network-connected and standalone systems.
- Safeguard critical data through reliable backup solutions to ensure recoverability in case of system failures.
- Maintain an inventory of all computer hardware and software, providing reports to management as needed.
- Log essential information regarding network performance, server health, user requests, and project status.
- Assist with compliance audits to meet regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance IT support services.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in IT Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years in IT support roles.
- Proficient in Windows desktop and server management, with some experience in Linux administration.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi virtualization.
- Strong grasp of networking principles, particularly with Aruba/HP technologies.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, VMware Certified Technical Associate, or similar are advantageous.
