About Us: At Adult & Child Health, we foster a welcoming and dynamic environment that promotes collaboration, diversity, and innovation. This culture allows our staff to enhance their existing skills and develop new competencies while delivering exceptional care to our clients and colleagues.

As an integrated healthcare provider in Central Indiana, we are recognized as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center and a Federally Qualified Health Center look-alike. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, affordable healthcare services, including primary care, behavioral health support, substance abuse treatment, mobile crisis intervention, community outreach, school-based services, and more.

Role Responsibilities: The Peer Support Specialist will deliver on-site assistance at designated apartment complexes, focusing on case management, mental and behavioral health support, benefits navigation, and referrals to primary care services through affiliated facilities. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to healthy recovery and possess the ability to share their recovery journey to inspire and uplift others.

Work Schedule: The position is based in Central Indiana, specifically serving Marion County. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with options for flexible scheduling.

  • Coordinating with community partners, referral sources, and service providers while advocating for the individuals served.
  • Completing necessary documentation and data entry accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 12 months of specialized training.
  • All applicants must hold either a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) or Certified Addictions Peer Recovery Coach (CAPRC) certification in the State of Indiana, or meet the eligibility criteria for the respective certification programs. Candidates hired without certification must obtain it within the first three months of employment to maintain their position. Certification requires lived experience in receiving mental health or substance use treatment and being in recovery for at least one year.

Benefits:

  • We provide staff development funds for every employee.
  • Our 401K plan is immediately vested.
  • We offer sponsorship opportunities (such as H-1B sponsorship) for qualified positions, requiring candidates to be licensed or license-eligible in LMHC, LCSW, LCAC, or LMFT, typically necessitating a U.S. degree.
  • Our DEIB Commission actively supports various taskforces, including those focused on Black Culture Awareness, DEIB Committees, HOPE, LGBTQ+ initiatives, and more.
