SUMMARY: The role involves defining, developing, and supervising the execution of innovative manufacturing processes primarily for connectors and cable assemblies, or enhancing existing manufacturing methods. The focus is on maintaining superior levels of product quality and manufacturing efficiency while adhering to cost constraints and regulatory compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
  • Initiate, manage, and propel continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Guarantee Total Effective Manufacturing Cell readiness for new product and process introductions (PFMEA; FLOW; STANDARD; ROUTING; SAFETY, etc.).
  • Prepare and convey project updates and progress to leadership in a clear and concise manner to demonstrate measurable enhancements.
  • Implement effective DMAIC processes.
  • Utilize A3 Problem Solving techniques - Closed Loop (Is / Is Not; 5Why; Fishbone; DOE; PFMEA).
  • Define, lead, and execute Kaizen events based on analysis of cell KPIs.
  • Ensure the sustainability of improved processes through ongoing evaluation and reporting.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with cell operators, engineering teams, and management regarding project requirements, status, and implementation.
  • Develop and document effective electronic and manual work instructions.
  • Design, develop, implement, and enhance new and existing manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Formulate and maintain a CAPEX plan to address current and future manufacturing process needs.
  • Apply effective Lean Manufacturing principles - VSM; setup reduction; flow improvement; waste elimination.
  • Successfully implement and validate new equipment and processes (develop equipment and process validation plans).
  • Continuously identify, troubleshoot, and resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and support as needed.
  • Analyze production trends to formulate improvement strategies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES This position requires knowledge typically acquired through:
  • A four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in technical writing.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to adapt the message to the audience.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma and related technical problem-solving tools.
  • Knowledge of digital factory connectivity.
  • Ability to produce articles for publication that adhere to prescribed style and format and effectively communicate information to senior management.
  • Competence in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry, with the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Self-motivated with effective SMART goal management.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Project management capabilities.
