Position Summary: We are in search of a strategic and dynamic Vice President of Construction to lead our construction initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a robust history of managing extensive residential development projects, supervising construction activities, and ensuring project success from the initial bidding phase through to project completion. This role will also focus on refining our operational systems and processes to facilitate our growth while nurturing strong stakeholder relationships.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all facets of project delivery, ensuring adherence to established procedures, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and regulations.
  • Act as a representative for the company, recognizing shared interests and achievements.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational processes, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate delays and cost overruns.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding their needs to deliver exceptional solutions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, Superintendents, and construction teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Set clear expectations and empower team members to reach their maximum potential.
  • Monitor project financial performance, ensuring budgets and forecasts are adhered to.
  • Champion a culture of quality and safety across all projects, implementing rigorous quality control measures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including development, engineering, procurement, and finance, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Engage with external partners, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project success.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Experience with construction project management software.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale residential development projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining diverse stakeholder relationships.
