Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Real Estate Acquisitions Specialist to join our team at Selby Jennings. As a key member of our acquisitions team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new properties for development in the Charlotte, North Carolina market.

About the Role
  • Source new core, value add, and development equity investment opportunities in Charlotte, North Carolina, and potentially other primary east coast markets.
  • Establish relationships with prominent owners, brokers, and potential operating partners to identify investment opportunities.
  • Negotiate deal terms, conduct due diligence activity, financial underwriting, and market analysis for investment review.
Key Responsibilities

As a Commercial Real Estate Acquisitions Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Acquiring new properties for development by identifying and researching new properties.
  2. Negotiating Letters of Intent (LOI) and all business terms of a Purchase and Sale agreement.
  3. Providing pertinent property information to peers for development.
  4. Conducting market analysis by accumulating statistical and narrative information on new markets considered for entry.
  5. Traveling to new and current markets to collect market data and evaluate for clients.
Requirements

To be successful as a Commercial Real Estate Acquisitions Specialist, you will need:

  • A minimum of 7 years of commercial investment experience, with at least three to five years of acquisition experience attained at a real estate investment trust, an institutional investment manager, brokerage firm, or large owner/operator.
  • A demonstrated track record of sourcing and closing transactions, with North Carolina transaction experience preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree with a preference for heavy coursework in business and/or finance.
