Position Overview:
The Nighttime Security Officer is tasked with safeguarding the properties managed by Delta Center. This role encompasses the comprehensive oversight of security measures across various facilities. The officer will become proficient in all security technologies and protocols to ensure the seamless operation of the venue during nighttime hours. Shift Hours: Midnight to 8 AM. Hours may fluctuate based on security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols to verify the safety and security of the premises.
  • Document daily activities and any irregularities, including damage, theft, or unauthorized access.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate any disturbances.
  • Engage with guests at security checkpoints, managing access control and crowd safety.
  • Perform respectful and efficient searches of bags and individuals.
  • Oversee and adjust controls for building systems, including HVAC and security alarms.
  • Handle telephone inquiries and provide information during off-hours.
  • Assist with parking for players, VIPs, employees, and guests.
  • Support guests and employees during emergencies, including medical situations or evacuations.
  • Provide assistance to guests with special needs.
  • Monitor safety and security conditions throughout the facility.
  • Enforce safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Complete mandatory training successfully.
  • Foster a welcoming environment for guests and staff.
  • Ensure all individuals are informed of facility policies regarding safety.
  • May be required to operate a company vehicle for external patrols.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring all guests and team members feel valued.
  • Create memorable experiences for guests and employees alike.
  • Prioritize safety for all personnel and visitors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to handle objections with a focus on guest service.
  • Capable of following both verbal and written instructions.
  • Valid Driver's License is preferred.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as outlined by Delta Center management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent climbing of stairs and moving of materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, handle, grasp, and reach.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Most duties are performed indoors; some may occur outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess the ability to observe and assess situations accurately.
