Position Overview:
The Nighttime Security Specialist is tasked with safeguarding the Delta Center, a venue that hosts a diverse range of events, including sports games and concerts. This role requires proficiency in all security systems within the facility and the application of established security protocols to maintain a secure environment during operational hours. Shift hours are from midnight to 8 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  • Document daily activities and any irregularities, including property damage, theft, unauthorized individuals, or unusual incidents.
  • Respond to alarms and investigate any disturbances.
  • Oversee and adjust controls for building systems, such as heating and cooling.
  • Handle phone inquiries and provide information outside of regular business hours.
  • Assist with parking for VIPs and event staff.
  • Manage crowd flow during events.
  • Provide assistance to guests in emergency situations, including medical emergencies or evacuations.
  • Support guests with special needs.
  • Monitor safety and security conditions throughout the venue.
  • Enforce safety and security policies.
  • Complete all required training successfully.
  • Respect the property of guests and employees during screenings.
  • Engage proactively and positively with guests and staff.
  • Ensure all individuals are informed of Delta Center policies regarding safety.
  • May require driving a company vehicle to designated locations.
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Foster an environment where guests and team members feel valued and heard.
  • Create memorable experiences for guests.
  • Prioritize safety for all employees and visitors.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Comfortable conducting respectful searches of bags and individuals.
  • Ability to handle objections with a guest service-oriented approach.
  • Must follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Valid Driver's License is preferred.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills for effective communication.
  • Maintain a professional appearance as per company standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent climbing of stairs and moving of materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, handle, grasp, or reach.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Most duties are performed indoors under controlled conditions; some may occur outdoors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Capable of observing and assessing situations accurately.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
