Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Anesthesia Technician to join our team at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will work closely with our experienced anesthesia technicians and board-certified anesthesiologist to provide exceptional care for patients undergoing various procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide anesthesia support for patients of all ASA levels, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Assist the surgery department with appointments, maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot surgical and anesthetic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, providing clear and concise updates on patient status and procedure details.
  • Participate in educational and research projects focused on anesthesia, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices.
Qualifications
  • NYS Veterinary Technician's license
  • Advanced anesthesia skill set, with experience in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia protocols, and post-operative care.
  • Ability to work autonomously during crises, with strong skills in crash medicine and resuscitation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to remain composed in stressful situations.
