About the Role

STS Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team. As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing general to complex maintenance tasks on assigned aircraft and related systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Maintenance Tasks: Remove and install panels and components, repair work, and sheet metal repair or installation.
  • Lead and Train Junior Technicians: Perform aircraft mechanic duties that require an advanced level of knowledge, training of junior level technicians or troubleshooting repairs.
  • Inspect and Repair Aircraft Components: Examine, disassemble, and inspect engines, parts, or other components for wear, warping, breaks, leaks, or other non-conformities or deficiencies.
  • Service and Maintain Aircraft Systems: Perform tasks such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
  • Test and Diagnose Aircraft Systems: Test engine and system operations, using testing equipment, and listen to engine sounds to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Remove and Install Engines: Remove engine from aircraft or install engine, using hoist or forklift truck.
  • Modify Aircraft Structures and Systems: Disassemble, and or modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, engineering orders, and technical publications.
  • Read and Interpret Technical Documents: Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Adjust, Align, and Calibrate Aircraft Systems: Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Maintain Shop Facility, Equipment, and Tooling: Maintain and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling when required.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Associate's Degree in Aviation Technology preferred along with aircraft model specific training.
  • Experience: At least 3 years current experience maintaining, inspecting, servicing, and repairing corporate aircraft.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must possess a valid FAA A&P License.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills. Experience in Aviation Maintenance Software programs such as Corridor is preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment is a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot. Routine standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, or stooping is required. Manual work requires routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
