Position Summary:
As an Aircraft Interior Upholstery Technician, your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks from basic upholstery of aircraft seating and panels to comprehensive refurbishment of interior components. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team leaders on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a variety of upholstery tasks, including foam shaping, pattern creation, and sewing of seat components and other interior features.
- Carry out the removal, cleaning, repair, and modification of upholstery elements.
- Maintain daily logs and uphold cleanliness and organization standards within the workspace.
- Utilize basic computer skills to access electronic training materials and maintenance records.
- Work independently when necessary and communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in upholstery work on corporate aircraft is preferred.
- Strong sewing skills and familiarity with upholstery tools and methods.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license suitable for airline travel and/or a valid passport is advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and company safety standards.
- Actively engage in team environments and adhere to project timelines.
- Conduct significant modification tasks as needed while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Routine capability to walk, bend, squat, stand for extended periods, and navigate in confined spaces.
- Solid understanding of aviation industry regulatory and safety standards.
Working Conditions:
- Most work is performed in a hangar or workshop setting; occasional tasks may occur on the aircraft ramp.
- Utilization of personal and electrical hand tools, including sewing machines, sanders, and saws.
