Position Summary: As an Immigration Law Associate, you will play a pivotal role in our mission, managing essential elements of immigration law, including VAWA, T, and U visa applications, along with general affirmative filings. Your responsibilities will encompass vigorous representation in immigration courts, covering everything from Master hearings to merits hearings. Here, you will not only practice law but also guide and mentor, providing training and oversight to our proficient team of paralegals and legal assistants.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement comprehensive legal strategies for a varied clientele.
- Oversee and enhance the legal output of paralegals and legal assistants.
- Represent the firm and its clients in court and during USCIS interviews, showcasing outstanding advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Uphold strict standards of professionalism and confidentiality in all communications and responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual capabilities in Spanish preferred for effective client interactions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and time management abilities.
- Detail-oriented.
- Capable of exercising sound judgment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite/Google Suite, including Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.
Education/Experience:
- JD from an accredited institution.
- Must possess a valid license and current membership in the bar of any U.S. state.
- Legal experience as a licensed attorney.
- Some litigation and supervisory experience is a plus.
