Lead Engineering Program Manager

In your role as a Lead Engineering Program Manager, you will oversee and direct projects from their initial stages to completion, working closely with diverse teams to ensure project success and promoting engineering excellence. You will be vital in guaranteeing that our projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and uphold the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Design Reviews & Peer Reviews, ensuring the completeness of the Design Review documentation in accordance with the Product Development Process (PDP).
  • Manage the Technical Risk Register: Identify risks, assess project scope changes, evaluate, rate, and implement action plans, and manage contingency strategies.
  • Ensure engineering competencies incorporate design for manufacturability (DFA, DFM).
  • Authorize Start/Stop/Change/Signoff of engineering activities on component-level work packages.
  • Mediate technical disputes among Engineering Project Managers. Evaluate and manage internal and customer technical change requests, including estimation of technical changes (effort/timing/cost) and present impact assessments.
  • Take ownership of the closure of Product Change Requests (PCRs) and Verification and Inspection Reports (VIRs) as required in collaboration with the Customer Chief Engineer.
  • Develop and maintain compliant timelines for Engineering deliverables (HW (ME/EE), Validation, SW, Systems) in partnership with the Program Manager.
  • Ensure that engineering execution adheres to standard practices and best methodologies, complying with applicable organizational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and deliver product solution handovers to customers at key milestones.
  • Participate in Big Room Planning, Program Iteration (PI) Demonstrations, and Program Iteration (PI) Retrospectives.
  • Collect, consolidate, and agree on Engineering budget inputs for the Business Budget Planning (BBP) cycle: Resource demand, Capital expenses, materials, and credits.
  • Monitor Engineering expenditures against the approved Engineering budget for assigned projects.
  • Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) costs and related technical aspects.
  • Collaborate with competency leads to identify and fulfill staffing needs for engineering projects.
  • Ensure execution of the Master Control Integration Plan (MCIP) meets targets.
  • Facilitate coordination among various engineering disciplines.
  • Accountable for Engineering Timing and Budget.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (computer science, software, systems, or a related field).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Automotive Industry or Consumer Electronics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Cross-functional interests, self-motivated, and adaptable, comfortable with uncertainty.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent soft skills: adept at networking, influencing, committed to continuous learning, and demonstrating a positive and responsible attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with automotive SPICE (Software Performance Improvement and Capability Determination).
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Polarion, DOORS, or similar.
