Position Summary:

The Field Service Engineer will report directly to the Manager of Technical Support and collaborate closely with all members of the Clear Labs Client Care Team.

This role is essential for providing support to both in-house and field-installed robotic systems, engaging in both proactive and reactive tasks as required.

Additionally, the engineer may be assigned to assist with strategic initiatives across various Clear Labs teams to align with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on robotic systems.
  • Engage with customers through in-person visits and electronic communication, fostering confidence in both personal expertise and the capabilities of Clear Labs.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer site visits and service reports.
  • Provide constructive feedback to internal teams to identify failure points and enhance system reliability.
  • Assist the Client Care team to optimize equipment uptime and responsiveness.
  • Support logistics to ensure timely shipping of products and finished goods, while providing insights on inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize customer uptime.
  • Uphold a professional image at all times when interacting with customers, clients, and vendors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel with minimal notice, with travel expectations ranging from 25% to 75% monthly, including occasional weekend travel.
  • Availability for 20-40 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Hands-on experience in field service, ideally within the biotech, life sciences, or robotics sectors, including work in customer laboratories while adhering to biohazard safety protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities in electronics, electromechanical systems, robotics, liquid handlers, computers, and networking components.
  • Experience with Hamilton liquid handlers is highly desirable; certification in Hamilton service training is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage customer expectations while delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 80 lbs on an infrequent basis.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring immigration sponsorship.
Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly wage is competitive and based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include a lunch stipend for days spent at headquarters and reimbursement for business-related personal phone expenses, up to $100 monthly, in accordance with Clear Labs Travel and Expense Policy.
