KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and mentor Before/After School Youth Leaders.
- Manage a group of children and program activities, ensuring accurate attendance and child safety at all times.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards set forth by TDFPS licensing, legal requirements, and the Y (e.g., safety protocols, behavior management strategies, child protection policies); implement ADA accommodations as necessary; maintain the program site, equipment, and required documentation.
- Engage children through purposeful programming; design, organize, and implement activities that align with program objectives, are culturally relevant, developmentally suitable, and reflect the Y's values. Examples of programming include physical activities, arts & crafts, STEM projects, homework support, character development, and snack time.
- Maintain accurate records and manage CCMS systems.
- Build positive relationships and foster shared interests with all youth; exemplify relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Encourage youth to take the lead, solve problems, and make choices within the program, providing daily opportunities for reflection on their experiences.
- Facilitate open communication with parents and caregivers regarding their child's needs and progress; connect families to the Y.
- Participate in program activities, staff meetings, and all required training sessions.
- Implement all YMCA policies and procedures, embodying the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
- Ensure the safety of YMCA technology, including site phones, tablets, and computers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must meet the qualifications of a Site Supervisor as defined by TDFPS.
- Ability to attend weekly Site Supervisor staff meetings.
- Must enjoy working with children; prior experience in a licensed program is preferred.
- Must be able to complete all required training sessions.
- Must have or obtain a current TB test prior to employment.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas: music, crafts, STEM, team-building, skits, sports, or recreational activities.
- Strong conflict resolution, decision-making, and communication skills are essential.
- Ability to adapt and respond to a dynamic work environment.
- Experience working with diverse populations is preferred.
- Ability to cultivate positive, authentic relationships with individuals from various backgrounds.
- Commitment to inclusion and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certifications and completion of trainings in Child Abuse Prevention, Understanding Your Biases, Anti-Harassment, Blood Borne Pathogens, Hazard Communication Awareness, and Slips, Trips, and Falls are required within 30 days of hire.
