Job Summary

Foundation Communities Inc is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Program Assistant to lead daily activities and engage youth in education-centered after school and summer youth programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong ability to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the learning environment, lessons, and necessary supplies for program activities
  • Plan and lead meaningful activities that promote arts, STEM, reading, character development, physical fitness, and nutrition
  • Assist children with homework and academic enrichment activities
  • Ensure safety and supervision of students
  • Promote an inclusive and welcoming environment that embraces diversity
  • Maintain accurate program documentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom and common areas

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and pass a criminal background check
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in online educational tools
  • Flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands
  • Ability to lead fitness activities and supervise/participate in sports
  • Ability to organize activities and make sound judgments

Preferred Requirements:

  • Six months experience working with children, preferably in education and support services
  • Coursework in Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Bi-lingual skills in Spanish, Arabic, or other languages

Working Conditions:

The Youth Program Assistant will work in a variety of climate conditions and may be exposed to bodily fluids. The position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, and the ability to lift small children.

Compensation:

$17/hour
