Position Overview

The role of Qualified Medication Administration Personnel at Liberty Heights is pivotal in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Safety: Ensure the adherence to the six rights of medication administration to guarantee the safety of our residents.
  • Narcotic Management: Accurately count and document all narcotics administered to residents.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee the complete inventory of medications, which includes ordering, receiving, verifying, storing, and dating medications. Responsible for the removal of expired or discontinued medications and notifying relevant parties when supplies are low.
  • Discrepancy Reporting: Identify and report any discrepancies in medication inventory to the appropriate personnel.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Conduct daily cleaning of all medication carts at the end of each shift and restock as necessary. Perform weekly deep cleaning of all medication carts.
  • MAR Verification: Ensure that all current Medication Administration Records (MARs) are compared with new MARs during transition periods.
  • Personal Care: Provide essential personal care to residents, including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence care, and assistance with eating.
  • Nursing Duties: Deliver general nursing care, which encompasses taking vital signs, temperatures, blood pressure, and weights.
  • Documentation: Accurately document necessary information in the daily log as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a senior care environment.
  • Possession of a state-specific QMAP certification.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail.
