Job Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Project Accountant to become part of our client's team. The Project Accountant will handle the financial components of various roofing initiatives, ensuring precision in accounting records and offering financial insights to project managers to facilitate project success. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in construction accounting, outstanding organizational abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial elements of multiple roofing projects from start to finish.
  • Develop and assess project budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
  • Track project expenses, monitor costs, and ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Perform cost analysis and deliver financial insights to project managers and upper management.
  • Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and payments for subcontractors related to projects.
  • Reconcile project accounts and verify the accuracy of financial records.
  • Collaborate with project managers to establish and uphold project timelines and schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Conduct regular audits of project financials to identify inconsistencies and suggest corrective measures.
  • Help prepare and submit financial documentation for project bids and proposals.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project accounting files and documentation.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • CPA or CPA Track is preferred.
  • 3-10 years of experience in project accounting, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with roofing industry practices and terminology is a plus.
