Role Overview:
We are in search of a meticulous and skilled Project Accountant to become a vital part of our financial team.

The Project Accountant will oversee the financial management of diverse roofing projects, ensuring precision in accounting documentation and offering financial insights to project leaders to facilitate project success.

The successful candidate will possess a robust background in construction finance, outstanding organizational capabilities, and the aptitude to work collaboratively with various teams.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial components of multiple roofing projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and evaluate project budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
  • Track project expenses, monitor costs, and ensure compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to project leaders and upper management.
  • Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and payments to subcontractors.
  • Reconcile project accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate with project leaders to establish and uphold project timelines and schedules.
  • Assist in the creation of financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Conduct regular audits of project finances to identify inconsistencies and suggest corrective measures.
  • Assist in preparing financial documentation for project bids and proposals.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation during audits.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project accounting files and records.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • CPA certification or CPA candidacy is preferred.
  • 3-10 years of experience in project accounting, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with roofing industry practices and terminology is a plus.
