This role entails providing financial expertise to project teams, concentrating on budget management, profitability analysis, earnings variances, cash flow oversight, and adherence to contract stipulations. The Financial Project Consultant acts as the primary financial advisor throughout the project's duration, ensuring success in various aspects such as contracting, compensation structures, payment conditions, alignment of work plans, budget oversight, revenue acknowledgment, and invoice processing.

This position is located in one of our key office sites in the North Texas/Arkansas region and does not accommodate remote work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and engage in financial management throughout the project life cycle.
  • Evaluate gross margin scenarios and offer recommendations for revenue and cash performance.
  • Examine client contracts, evaluate payment conditions, and identify opportunities for revenue improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the project management system and align work plans with client expectations.
  • Review and authorize invoices according to client agreements, collaborating with the cash management team to resolve discrepancies.
  • Produce reports to identify cost-related issues, investigate budget irregularities, and forecast project estimates.
  • Facilitate earnings reviews in accordance with GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
  • Build client relationships and manage subconsultant activities.
  • Deliver training on project management methodologies and mentor Project Finance Associates and Analysts.
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • 9 years of experience in financial management, project accounting/analysis, or a related field.

Preferred Skills:

  • Accountability for project finance duties for medium to large-scale projects.
  • Ability to understand contract requirements and propose enhancements.
  • Proficient data analysis skills in Excel and project management software.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with exceptional organizational capabilities.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Project Management or other relevant certifications.
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Master's degree in business or engineering.
  • Familiarity with project financial management, cost control, and industry standards.
