About the Position:

Alcon is seeking a Senior Project Management Specialist to join our Digital Health division. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our PMO & Strategy Director to ensure the successful launch of innovative digital health solutions.

Our Digital Health division is leveraging technology to create a premier suite of digital health solutions designed to enhance the eye care journey for both healthcare providers and patients, ultimately leading to better health outcomes. This includes a predictive healthcare delivery platform utilizing machine learning and analytics, as well as cutting-edge medical device software.

As a Senior Project Management Specialist, you will oversee the project management lifecycle, which may encompass recruiting, training, mentoring team members, setting clear expectations, planning, monitoring progress, evaluating contributions, and enforcing organizational policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee strategic initiatives (e.g., acquisitions) to ensure timely and budget-compliant execution.
  • Develop resource allocation and sequencing plans for strategic projects.
  • Coordinate sub-projects and tasks among vendors and internal teams.
  • Maintain and prioritize a list of project-related issues, proactively ensuring their resolution through the appropriate channels.
  • Generate project reports (e.g., status updates, reviews) and deliver presentations that reflect progress.
  • Assess and prepare review documents for modifications to project scope.
  • Conduct project risk assessments and assist in identifying and implementing risk controls.
  • Maintain and monitor the project risk management strategy closely.

Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of established KPIs.

Team Structure:

  • This role does not include direct reports.

Competency Requirements:

  • Expertise in governance frameworks and management techniques for both projects and programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of enterprise-level functional domains and product/platform operating models.
  • Knowledge of the interplay between the Digital Product Manager, Scrum Master, and the broader team, with a strong foundation in design thinking.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills, along with experience in senior stakeholder management and procurement negotiations.
  • Excellent communication abilities, capable of articulating and optimizing designs based on user and business value, and leading ideation sessions and workshops.
  • Adept at working under tight deadlines and quick turnaround times.
  • Confident and assertive, willing to advocate for the best interests of the team.
  • High-energy individual who motivates colleagues to achieve their fullest potential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, translating abstract concepts into actionable design implications.

Language Proficiency:

Fluency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project/Program Manager.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale initiatives across cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture, application lifecycle management, and software development methodologies.
