Job Overview

The role involves managing the radio communication systems for multiple operational centers, including regional offices and enforcement facilities. You will be responsible for responding to emergency calls and documenting actions taken through a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, ensuring proper routing to dispatchers or relevant agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate radio consoles effectively across various locations.
  • Respond to 9-1-1 emergency calls, logging details and actions taken.
  • Assist other agencies and the public using advanced telephone systems.
  • Input and manage data related to vehicles, individuals, and property in computerized systems.

Work Environment

The dispatch center operates on a rotating 3/12 work schedule, allowing for seniority-based shift and vacation preferences.

Essential Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a drug screening prior to employment.
  • Passing a comprehensive background investigation.
  • Medical clearance is required before hiring.
  • Completion of a psychological evaluation is mandatory.
  • A valid typing certificate must be submitted prior to employment.

Verification of minimum qualifications will occur before appointment. Candidates must provide unofficial transcripts or diplomas for initial review, with official documents required before starting the position. For those with foreign educational credentials, a third-party evaluation is necessary to confirm equivalency.

This position necessitates proficiency in typing at a speed specified in the classification specifications. A valid typing certificate confirming this ability must be obtained prior to employment.

Additional Information

Current employees eligible for transfer must submit a completed transfer request form. The most senior applicant in the same classification will be prioritized for selection.
