Safety Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

The Safety Technician will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting safe and healthy working conditions. This position will assist with the daily implementation of Health and Safety programs and perform assignments of limited scope and difficulty following the direction of the assigned Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with permitting: Hot work, Permit Required Confined Space Entry, Excavation etc.
• Assist with accident/incident investigation.
• Assist safety meetings / tailgate meetings.
• Perform field audits of all personal protective equipment in use in field.
• Perform atmospheric monitoring of all work areas and record results appropriately.
• Audit safety performance of all employees including all reporting forms and audit sheets.
• Ensure all incidents/accidents are reported immediately to management and according to company policy.
• Assist with performing root cause analysis and insure a corrective action is implemented.
• Work with supervision to develop and implement Job Safety Analysis, Accident/Incident reporting.
• Participate in any investigation or analysis of site safety.
• Take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm, and for assisting in developing strategies that drive performance and support continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• Minimum 1- 4 years industrial work experience.
• TWIC, ARSC Basic Safety
• Must have good written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ensure prompt completion of tasks and assignments.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently after direction is given.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs.
• Valid state driver's license (preferred).
• First-Aid/CPR, OSHA 10 (preferred).
