Job Title: Environmental Compliance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at Environmental Consultants (ECI). As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and laws related to site development and linear transmission line construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide environmental compliance and construction oversight on transmission site development and linear transmission line construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations for wetland access, protected species, wood and debris disposal, site control, and soil disturbance.
  • Manage and oversee site development crews and ensure that all measures are installed as per the approved plan.
  • Monitor and report to project management on the status of construction units estimated and actuals billed to date of project.
  • Document pre- and post-work field conditions to ensure that sites are in compliance with permits and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in environmental science, construction management, building science, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years' experience in site development work, permitting utility construction.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Service (NPDES) Construction Generic Permit (CGP) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) implementation and inspections associated with these permits and plans.
  • Successfully completed a Stormwater, Erosion Control Inspector Training Program, CESSWI (Certified Erosion and Sediment/Stormwater Inspector), or a similar competency program to conduct all routine compliance inspections in Indiana.
