The Process Development Technology & Innovation Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise to advance innovative process technologies within manufacturing facilities, focusing on safety, quality, production efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This position entails a comprehensive understanding of process technology while managing various projects aimed at enhancing INEOS performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Uphold the 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety along with Life Saving Rules.

2. Spearhead and assist in multiple initiatives to boost performance by conducting laboratory, pilot, and full-scale trials.

3. Design, assess, and calculate modifications to plant equipment and processes to meet safety, environmental, production, reliability, quality, and cost targets.

4. Formulate and present justifications for projects.

5. Utilize a foundational understanding of maintenance practices to aid in troubleshooting and enhance equipment performance and reliability.

6. Execute complex calculations and apply standards independently and accurately.

7. Employ industry and corporate standards for effective design and engineering.

8. Collaborate with INEOS colleagues to provide plant support and lead trial development.

9. Review vendor documentation for specifications and data sheet requirements.

10. Ensure data integrity and functionality by applying statistical methods in accordance with Six Sigma Black Belt principles.

11. Communicate effectively and prepare presentations on new technologies based on technical reports for various projects.

12. Comprehend safety and environmental objectives for both the plant and department.

13. Advocate for a robust safety culture that aligns with INEOS Pigments' Safety and Behavioral Principles.

14. Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams.

15. Engage in HAZOP & PHA reviews.

16. Develop Process Data Sheets and Specifications.

17. Collaborate with diverse functional teams, including Safety, Maintenance, Reliability, Project Engineering, Process Controls, Process Safety, and Technology & Innovation.

18. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering; preference for Chemical Engineering.
  • Seven to ten years of proven engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly in process development.
  • Experience in executing projects with multidisciplinary teams across multiple plant locations.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in decision-making tools and data analysis.
  • Proficient in MS Office, SAP, Excel, and Minitab.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule and lift up to 50 lbs, primarily during trials and laboratory work.

Possess the capability to lead extensive process design scope development, evaluation, and design of both new and existing chemical processes. Knowledge of statistical design and evaluation methods is essential. Demonstrate the ability to utilize analytical processes to assess situations, develop supporting plans, make informed decisions, generate innovative ideas, and troubleshoot operational challenges. Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately 25% of the time.

Work Schedule:

This is a salaried, exempt position with standard working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
