We are currently in search of a talented Senior Process Engineer to become a vital part of our innovative team. In this capacity, you will be involved in the design and development of state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities for leading global enterprises. Our Senior Process Engineers engage in exciting design-build initiatives for industrial settings, semiconductor fabrication plants, and similar environments, crafting innovative solutions for complex design challenges while adhering to specifications and ensuring timely project delivery. The projects may encompass systems such as: fluid transfer, heat exchange, friction loss in piping systems, ultrapure/high purity water systems, specialty gas and chemical systems, and hazardous wastewater treatment systems. This role will operate in a hybrid model, requiring occasional onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the design and development of intricate, optimized process systems for cutting-edge industrial and high-tech manufacturing projects. These systems may involve:
- Leading engineering efforts for fluid transfer, heat exchange, and related systems to fulfill production demands.
- Creating and refining water purification systems to ensure top-tier water quality for critical manufacturing processes.
- Evaluating and reducing friction loss in piping systems to guarantee optimal fluid transfer and system efficiency.
- Designing and implementing effective treatment solutions for solvents, acids, hazardous waste, and other industrial effluents in line with environmental standards.
- Overseeing systems for the safe management and distribution of specialty gases and chemicals utilized in manufacturing.
- Generate process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), system layout plans, equipment/system sizing and selection, along with relevant specification documentation.
- Work to implement, enhance, and expand the adoption of innovative concepts and methodologies to address complex challenges, improve efficiency, minimize waste, and boost productivity.
- Provide technical guidance and support to all levels of staff within the department, ensuring alignment with client expectations, project scope, budget, and timelines.
- Identify, mentor, and foster the development of junior staff, seeking opportunities to elevate the technical and professional capabilities of the team.
- Encourage collaboration, communication, and strategic support within your team and across multidisciplinary and inter-company teams to promote efficiency and quality.
- Assist management in articulating discipline capability requirements to support strategic and business objectives.
- Engage in civic, discipline, and professional activities and associations, contributing to technical publications as necessary.
- Conduct field verifications and site assessments to identify, confirm, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages, troubleshooting design issues during construction as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited institution in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory.
- Experience in designing systems that encompass fluid transfer, heat exchange, friction loss in piping systems, ultrapure/high purity water systems, specialty gas and chemical systems, and hazardous wastewater treatment systems.
- Understanding of chemical process systems control philosophy, including P&ID development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) and Revit is essential; familiarity with PIPE-FLO or similar systems is advantageous.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, and adaptability to shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines.
- Experience in conducting field verifications and site assessments to identify, confirm, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages, with the ability to troubleshoot design issues in the field.
- Compensation range: $100,000 - $160,000/year, contingent on location, education, experience, and relevant certifications.
